HostelsPosted by Greg T Mon, December 15, 2008 16:06:04If you love surfing or you've seen Point Break about a thousand times like me and dream of living like Bodhi Zafa, then Margaret River in WA is a must visit on your travels. This laidback town, a few hundred km south of Perth, is a great place to chill out, catch some waves, and find a few awesome parties.
One of my favourite hostels i stayed in during my travels in WA was a little place called Surfpoint - very chilled, funky and an ideal spot to base yourself for a few weeks whilst absorbing the local vibe or looking for local work.

HostelsPosted by Greg T Mon, December 15, 2008 15:49:00I spent a fantastic couple of weeks in Queenstown in New Zealand during December 2003. I did all the usual crazy things such as the AJ Hackett Thrillogy - where you do all three of AJH's bungee jumps in Queenstown (I'll post more about this in Experiences).
I was in town on my own and set to be there for christmas. Therefore, I really wanted to find a small friendly hostel where I would get to know people for a great christmas. I found exactly that at The Last Resort - this fantastic little hostel only had about 4 dorm rooms - so about 20 people were staying there for christmas. It was a really nice place with friendly owners and a great alpin log cabin feel to it. I especially remember the great view from the shower of Queenstown hill - where you can watch people bungee off the top whilst you have a scrub!
